Principal's Welcome

Welcome to our Colourstrings Kindergartens, the world-leading foundation of all tuition at The North London Conservatoire (NLC). High-quality, structured, creative music education in a child's early years has been shown significantly to enhance speech development, cognitive development, social skills and educational attainment, and the NLC has been a leader in this field for nearly thirty years.   Zoltán Kodály himself believed that music education should start 'six months before the birth of the mother'!  Children who start under three often develop what seems like an innate musicality.

Our very popular and highly-regarded classes are available for babies of 6 months up to children of 5-6 years, with instrumental tuition if desired from 5-6 years.  We use folk song and classical music to inspire and develop core music skills through singing, rhythm games, dancing, free movement, use of tuned and untuned percussion and active and simple listening, with a large store of traditional nursery songs and special Colourstrings repertoire as well. We have many imitators but none are quite like the real thing!

Every week for little ones is precious - join us straight away while space lasts!

Enrol NOW for a discounted trial of 3 lessons, call Yvonne on 020 8444 9435 to find out about availability!

Testimonials

“After the first class we asked her if she would like to do another and her response was "Yes! Tomorrow and 100 times" - so - pretty enthusiastic!” - DE, parent of 5 year old Kindergarten member
